Job Description:
We are delighted to announce a new opportunity for Oromo Interpreter Jobs in Exeter, joining one of the UK’s most respected language service providers. Our company works closely with NHS Trusts, local authorities, schools, solicitors, housing associations, and private businesses. We provide interpreting both face-to-face and through telephone or video calls, ensuring that service users can access the support they need.
As an Oromo interpreter, you will play a vital role in breaking down language barriers for patients, clients, and professionals. This position offers flexibility, allowing you to choose assignments that fit around your availability, while contributing to essential services in the community.
Reqirements :
Applicants for this Oromo Interpreter Jobs in Exeter must be professional and fluent in both Oromo and English. We particularly welcome interpreters who hold professional qualifications such as DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting), NRPSI registration, ITI membership, or CIOL affiliation. In addition, candidates will need to provide the following:
- 1. Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
- 2. Copies of academic qualifications
- 3. Two referees who can comment on your interpreting work
- 4. A current CV
- 5. Proof of ID and proof of address
Please note: this is a self-employed freelance position, and interpreters are responsible for their own tax and National Insurance contributions.
Scope of Work:
- • Provide interpreting in healthcare settings including GP surgeries, hospitals, and community clinics.
- • Support social workers, teachers, and housing officers to communicate effectively with service users.
- • Attend legal and insurance appointments as required.
- • On occasion, undertake home visits, always accompanied by another professional.
- • Deliver interpreting both face-to-face and through remote methods such as telephone or video.
